My focus in counseling is to walk through the discovery process alongside my client to help them find their true voice. My role as a counselor is to encourage clients to identify their strengths, values, and passions as well as areas for growth. I work with therapeutic practices that include but are not limited to: cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, sand tray therapy, attachment focused therapy, mindfulness practices, Enneagram personality strengths, and life coaching techniques.
I strive to hear and understand an individual's story and listen for events, decisions and ways of thinking that may have caused them to get off track leaving them feeling lost or stuck. While I am a practicing Christian, I work with and am sensitive to individuals from all faiths including those with no specific faith background at all. I see all people as having innate value and light as we are all part of God's creation.
I work with each client to facilitate the change, understanding, and/or new way of being that they want for their life. This work can be challenging. Clients are expected to do their personal development work outside of our therapy in the context of their daily lives. Our time together is used to process what is holding them back and identifying what can help move them forward toward a healthier, more contented way of being.

I understand that the out of pocket fee for therapy can be costly. I offer a sliding scale for those who cannot afford the full fee.
If you are in need, please inquire about my sliding scale before we begin a counseling relationship.
Payment: Payment is due in full at the time of the appointment. Checks, major credit cards and HSA cards accepted.
I am in network with Aetna, Moda, Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Providence and Anthem EAP.
I am in the process of being credentialed to become "in network" on other insurance panels.
In-network means I accept your insurance. After your deductible is met (if you have one), insurance will pay for most or all of the sessions.
If I am not paneled with your insurance plan, you can see me as an out-of-network provider. Out-of-network means I don't take your insurance, however I can provide you with a superbill to send to your insurance plan for reimbursement. In most cases your insurance will pay a portion of your sessions.
Please call your insurance provider prior to beginning therapy to understand your benefits, your deductible, co pay and any limitations.
Notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment. If you fail to cancel a scheduled appointment, I cannot use this time for another client, and you will be charged for the entire cost of your missed session. Consideration will be given for illness and emergencies.
My colleague has a therapy dog on site. Please take note if you have allergies.
